CREATE CUSTOM SCHEMA BY DEFAULT OTHER THAN PUBLIC

keithaniz
Hello Fred,
Recently i have created hsqldb script where i found as
.
.
.
CREATE USER "RTN_TEST_NEW" PASSWORD DIGEST 'a189c633d9995e11bf8607170ec9a4b8'
ALTER USER "RTN_TEST_NEW" SET LOCAL TRUE
CREATE SCHEMA PUBLIC AUTHORIZATION DBA
CREATE SCHEMA NEXXUS AUTHORIZATION "RTN_TEST_NEW"
SET SCHEMA PUBLIC
CREATE MEMORY TABLE PUBLIC.DUAL(ID VARCHAR(10))
.
.
.

default schema as public but i need RTN_TEST_NEW as default schema not public..
by explicitly creating scheme RTN_TEST_NEW it works but i want default schema as RTN_TEST_NEW, how could it be possible???
please help me..!!

Re: CREATE CUSTOM SCHEMA BY DEFAULT OTHER THAN PUBLIC

It is not clear exactly what you need. You need to read the Access
Control chapter of the Guide, together with other parts. There are
different things you can do.

You can change the name of the existing default schema from PUBLIC to
whatever name you want. This is done with ALTER SCHEMA PUBLIC RENAME TO
NEWNAME. After this, there won't be a schema called PUBLIC.

Alternatively you can keep the PUBLIC schema and create the new schema
and use SET DATABASE DEFAULT INITIAL SCHEMA NEWNAME to use this schema
instead of PUBLIC when any user connect.

Or you can set this schema as the initial schema for a particular user
with ALTER USER SOMEUSER SET INITIAL SCHEMA NEWNAME.

Or you can change the initial schema for the current user with SET
INITIAL SCHEMA NEWNAME.
